heirloom vegetables & herbs
The unbeatable taste of local seasonal produce is undeniable. Parallel to taste is color, function and form, selected by gardeners, handed down and refined for centuries. The edible and ornamental, agricultural and horticultural, these frequently overlap on my farm. At the same time, my production practices are centered on whole-ecology responsibility, focused on plant health and insect and microbe diversity. Our irrigation and heating systems are powered by solar energy. I use and save my own open-pollinated seed to further reduce fossil fuel dependence, and to cultivate local ecotypes and hyper-local closed-loop resilience as much as possible. Truly grown by hand.
heritage breed duck eggs
Guarded by a fierce goose named Esme, munner ducks forage daily throughout the meadows, underneath the old orchard, and over resting garden beds. They’re fed certified organic grain grown and ground fresh by our neighbors at Stone House Farm. My duck eggs are superior to chicken eggs in every way! They can be used in any recipe that calls for chicken eggs at a 1:1 ratio. There is more protein and vitamin D per gram in duck eggs. But the real difference is the flavor and texture. So much richer, and so silky. Bakers know they add incredible loft to breads and cakes. Sfoglinas know they make a better pasta. Just fry one up for breakfast and you’ll be hooked.
